America's National DNA Database

The President of the United States should consider placing everyone in America on a national DNA database to help with its ongoing attempts to maintain law and order more effectively. The punishments handed out for crimes committed in the United States are, in general, of the right level of severity, yet crime still seems to be increasing (as it does practically everywhere else in the world). It is a well known fact that levels of criminality in the wider population diminish significantly when crime is punished promptly (see other posts). Today's criminal processing procedures are, rightly or wrongly, somewhat lengthy and it can take months or even years before a case gets to court. These time delays are often attributed to the gathering of sufficient evidence before a trial can even begin. DNA profiling, however, offers a method of obtaining the required evidence very quickly and thus proceedings can be speeded up quite considerably. Of course, the DNA system in not perfect, but the overwhelming success of the technique in a number of high profile cases around the globe should provide more than enough incentive to set up a DNA database at least at a national level. In the future, particularly in light of advances in supercomputing and the development of the Grid, there may be a case for constructing a global DNA database, with the ability to hold records for every human being on the planet.

The President Must Obey All God's Laws.

God's Laws are there to be obeyed. You can not pick and choose which ones to follow but must obey all of Them without question. Christians are able to do all that God requires by having reverence for the Lord and trusting Him completely. Some try to question God's law or remould it to suit their own agendas. There thinking is seriously flawed. Christianity is not a debating society and Christians should not question God but simply do what He commands. God's Laws are for the benefit of mankind and any deviation can only be to man's detriment.

The President of the United States will face many unique challenges. He will have a multitude of critics and often find himself in seemingly 'lose-lose' situations. To succeed he must have an excellent character which can only be achieved by following a good code of conduct without wavering. The best way to live is by diligently following God's Law. It is only by completely submitting to the Will of God that the President can complete his tenure with any degree of credibility. A man's personality sets a limit on what he can achieve. Spineless characters are doomed to fail but a personality controlled by God can achieve anything through faith. Much is expected from the President and only a Christ like personality can meet the demands of the job with integrity.

Ann Coulter On Law And Order

Law and order is a subject close to Ann Coulter's heart (yes, she does have one) . After all, she is a lawyer by trade.

Why is crime increasing? Well, the Bible says crime increases when it isn't punished quickly enough. It seems that criminals use delays in the criminal justice system as an excuse to increase their law breaking activities. On top of this, police are expected to undertake work which should be done by others;what are social workers for! Law enforcement officers are there to catch criminals, not to make friends with them.

Once convicted (eventually), the modern crook faces the possibility of "alternative" punishments. Gone are the days when they would be automatically thrown in jail. No, these days they could spend there sentence painting fences or sweeping roads. Is this punishment? Hardly! When someone is found guilty of committing a crime they must be punished a) because it acts as a deterrent and more importantly b) because it is the right thing to do. With big juicy carrots like "community based punishment", is it any wonder that crime is on the increase.
