John McCain And Vicki Iseman

Whether or not John McCain had an affair or any other type of romantic relationship with the lobbyist Vicki Iseman, is something that will clearly cause much concern to his Presidential campaign team. What should cause even greater concern to the wider public, however, is McCain's admission that he is friendly and has good working relationships with, not just Vicki Iseman, but a number of other influential lobbyists . Surely this should raise concerns in an election campaign where (more that any other election) the candidate's integrity is a key vote winner. Barack Obama went out of his way to distance himself from all lobbyists because he new that any type of association, no matter how tenuous, could give the impression that somehow he could be bought. John McCain, however, openly admits his association and in so doing, raises suspicions that when in power his role as President of the United States might be compromised. In this case, it might be better (for McCain's campaign team) if the allegations that John McCain had an affair with Ms Iseman were true as this might divert attention from the far more serious potential allegation that McCain is in bed with lobbyists. Alternatively, McCain can hope that any controversy surrounding his conduct is overshadowed by questions concerning Mrs Obama's patriotism or lack of it.
